The Honda HR-V 2023 is seen and it is clear that it goes up in category

Honda came out of the long silence to present the first photos and videos of what will be the Honda HR-V 2023 which marks the beginning of its new generation for North America. The images known so far reveal what his appearance will be.

It also confirms what was already being handled, and that is that the HR-V abandons the category of B-SUV, to go in search of success in a segment one rung higher.

This model no longer has the typical Honda design, its unprecedented lines within the portfolio on the front part together with the large trapezoidal grille with a honeycomb finish. The resemblance to the Civic with its headlights and skulls is not accidental. This HR-V has since been converted to a Civic SUV.

This Honda HR-V 20232 was developed from the Civic platform so it is Today it becomes a larger SUV both in total length and in the distance between both axles. Its characteristics are clearly superior and it is clear when using an independent rear suspension.

Although the brand has not yet clarified details about the engines that this beautiful model will use, it is almost certain that it will also share a range of engines with the Civic. It would be a fact then that it would have a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine 152 horsepower and a CVT transmission. A version is not ruled out either most equipped of this car with 1.5-liter engines.

The roof moldings have disappeared, according to Honda, and the windshield wipers have been hidden. This makes the lines of this model cleaner.

The front and rear lights are large LED. Even though this won’t be a sporty SUV, the sculpted trunk lid and functional spoiler would give it that look.

Honda ensures that the next details will be released in the coming months and its launch will be in the summer.

What is certain is that the HR-V will no longer compete against Vitara. Creta or Kicks, to now be measured against models such as the Toyota Corolla Cross, the Mazda CX-50 and Volkswagen Taos.
