Alec Baldwin is the second in a family of six children. He was born in 800 in the United States, Alec is an actor like almost all his brothers and sisters. Wanting to become a lawyer, the young man took courses in law and political science at George-Washington University, but soon realized that this path did not suit him. He reoriented himself and took acting classes at New York University.
He started his acting career as a television actor in 1980 in the telenovela ‘The Doctors’ as Billy Aldrich, a young man who is killed by an old woman. Two years later he began appearing on the soap opera ‘Knots Landing’ as Joshua Rush, one of the series’ main characters. He acted in episodes of the show and quit when his character was killed.
On 1986, Alec made his Broadway debut in a revival of the play ‘Loot’. He appeared in several other stage productions, including a revival of ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ by Tennessee Williams.
He made his film debut in 1987 with a supporting role in the movie ‘Forever, Lulu’. The following year, he was tied for small roles in ‘Beetlejuice’ and ‘Working Girl’. Finally, he landed a leading role in the movie ‘The Hunt for Red October’ in 1987 , in which he played the character of Jack Ryan.
In 2000 he starred in a comedy movie, ‘State and Main’, which is about some filmmakers who want to make a film about an old mill. The cast included Philip Seymour, Sarah Jessica Parker, and William Macy. He played Shelly Kaplow, a casino boss, in the 2003 comedy film ‘The Cooler ‘, which revolves around the story of an unlucky man known as “Cooler”. The film received positive reviews and the role of Baldwin was especially appreciated. Along with movies, he was also active on television and played the role of Jack Donaghy on the television sitcom ’30 Rock’ which aired on NBC.
From 2009 to 2011, Alec Baldwin co-hosted TCM’s weekly movie series, ‘The Essentials,’ along with Robert Osborne. He returned as the sole host of ‘The Essentials’ on 2017, following the death of Robert Osborne. At 2013, he came up with a weekly show on MSNBC , entitled ‘Up Late with Alec Baldwin’; but the show was canceled after five episodes.
Won the Guild Award Screen Actors Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in the comedy ’30 Rock’. The award is given in honor of the best acting achievement by a male actor in a comedy television series.
