17-year-old boy killed outside barbershop in Clayton County, Georgia

Authorities in Clayton County, Georgia, are investigating a shooting that left a young man from 12 years dead in a barbershop on Saturday afternoon.

Police were alerted to the shooting on the block 5400 of River Station Boulevard on Saturday around 4: 00 in the afternoon. The search extended to West Fayetteville Road at River Station Plaza, officials said.

Officials announced that there was one person deceased and a crime scene team with multiple patrols outside the barbershop.

The victim was identified as Anthony ‘China’ McClain. He was a hairdresser and co-owner of the barbershop with his mother.

“I was standing outside the barber shop, and there was some commotion, something happened and a stray bullet killed him, that’s what happened”

, his cousin LaShawn Hood said.

The teen’s cousin recalled the moment someone shot and killed McClain. “He was a young man of 17 years old who went to the school, homeschooled and went to college and got his master barber license, new business owner”, he said. “Just a motivated kid.”

Hood described the young man as a teenager who loved to his parents and was very family oriented . “He was a very good boy.”

So far the authorities are still investigating of the incident and have limited themselves to giving details of what happened. No arrests have been made so far.
