More of 200 teams started the road to Qatar 2022, but only 27 have secured their pass until this Tuesday. The other 5 quotas of 32 that will reach the World Cup of soccer next November are to be defined in duels direct and reclassification.
Qatar, as the host country, had its insured participation. This is the list of the teams that have achieved their pass -and those that are still looking for one- to the first World Cup to be held in the Middle East.
Europe: 13 direct passes
- Germany
- Spain
- France
- Denmark
- Croatia
- Serbia
- Belgium
- England
- Switzerland
- Netherlands
- Portugal
- Poland
The last pass will be played by Wales vs. Scotland or Ukraine. These playoff matches were suspended after the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, which was suspended by decision of UEFA and without the option to participate in Qatar.
South America: 4.5 passes
- Brazil
- Argentina
- Ecuador
- Uruguay
- Peru (playoff)
The Peruvian national team will compete for reclassification (on 03 of June) against the winner of the duel Australia vs. United Arab Emirates (June 7).
North America , Central America and the Caribbean: 3.5 passes
- Canada
The other 2.5 passes between United States, Mexico and Costa Rica are to be defined this Wednesday . Whoever finishes in fourth place will seek to qualify for the World Cup against the rival from Oceania that comes out of the confrontation between Solomon Islands and New Zealand which will be played this Wednesday.
The reclassification will be played on 14 June in Doha, Qatar.
Africa: 5 direct passes

Asia: 4.5 countries
- Iran
- South Korea
- Japan
- Saudi Arabia
Australia and United Arab Emirates will play a reclassification match on June 7 in Doha, Qatar. The winner will face Peru.
