The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized to start applying from Wednesday 30 of March, a second reinforcement of covid-vaccines 19, Pfizer and Moderna for Seniors 50 years old, if they are at least 4 months old after wearing the first one.

“This second booster is very important because we have seen that From 6 months after applying the vaccine, the protection begins to fade. By the time we get the second booster, people are more protected,” said Dr. Ilan Shapiro, medical director of Wellness for Altamed Health.
And he pointed out that the second reinforcement could not come at a better time after the wave of cases that have occurred in China and Europe. “We are 6 weeks late, but a new outbreak could come to us just the same.”
He said that he understands that we are tired of so many vaccines, but the virus does not care and it is used to attack.
“The best thing we have to protect ourselves is the vaccine that is still effective. And of course I would also like a single vaccine to be enough, but we are facing a virus that is changing, and the best protection tool we have is the vaccine.”
The authorization for a fourth dose of the vaccine against covid-19 occurs at a time when it begins to spread in the United States, the BA.2 subvariant, which is considered a version of the Omicron variant even more contagious. This new subvariant will be the next big test for covid vaccines.

“I have always been one of the first to get vaccinated. And although sometimes I have felt very tired and with arm pain after getting the vaccine, I prefer that to getting sick with covid.
“In all this time, I have not gotten sick with covid, but my sister has gotten sick twice. The first time she was terrible. The second one was already vaccinated and anyway, she got sick, but in a week, she was fine, without problems because she was hit very slightly thanks to the vaccine”.
The places to put on the second booster for those over 29 years, operated by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, will be in Obregón Park in East Los Angeles; Ted Watkins Park in South Los Angeles; the Balboa Sports Complex in Encino; the Commerce Senior Citizens Center in the City of Commerce; Santa Clarita’s Market Street Center; the Palmdale Oasis Recreation Center in Palmdale, the Norwalk Arts and Sports Complex in Norwalk.
