Despite the fact that companies have reported record profits in recent months, workers, mainly from the country’s so-called minorities, they continue to suffer from salaries that do not allow them to pay the costs of daily living.

A study carried out by the non-profit organization Oxfam revealed that working women are the most affected, when their salaries are compared with those of men.

At least in 25 states of the country, the 60% of working women of color earn less than $15 dollars per hour.

“Women and people of color do far more than their fair share in low-wage jobs, and as wages fall in value, is becoming a civil rights crisis in this country“, Oxfam said in a statement quoted by abc News.

According to the study results, overall, working American women earn 83 cents for every dollar a white, non-Hispanic male earns.

But wages are degraded by race, according to the Oxfam report.

–64 cents on the dollar, for women of color
– 64 cents per dollar, for Indian women -american

–57 cents per every dollar, for Latina or Hispanic women

The Oxfam study, without however, found that at least 52 million ns of workers in the country earn less than $ dollars per hour: 25% are men and 40% are women.

By race, the 26% of the total are white workers, 46% are Hispanic workers and 46% are black.

“Have passed 13 years since Congress raised the minimum wage in this country, and in that time all costs of living have risen steadily,” said Kaitlyn Henderson, Senior Advisor of research from Oxfam America, in the statement.

But there are even workers who earn less than $15 Dollars. Tipped workers, students, farm workers, domestic and disabled workers, these people have wages up to $7.15 dollars per hour.
