Man looking to buy a car in South Los Angeles died after being shot in an attempted robbery and hit by a vehicle

A man looking to buy a car in South Los Angeles died this Friday afternoon after being shot in an attempt robbery and being hit by a vehicle in the Westmont neighborhood, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) reported.

Approximately 12: 10 pm, paramedics responded to the call of a person who had been run over at the intersection of Budlong Avenue and 100th Street , near Woodcrest Elementary School, authorities said in a statement.

When the paramedics arrived at the scene, they found that the person who had been hit had gunshot wounds and had died.

In the first investigations, the authorities learned that the victim was in the area to look at a car that was allegedly advertised for sale online.

When you arrived at the place, the victim was received by three suspects who tried to rob him, and one of the subjects who participated in the robbery took out a pistol and shot him.

The victim, after being shot, ran down the street, but was hit by a car, causing traumatic injuries from the impact and causing death before receiving medical attention.

The three suspects in the assault and shooting fled the scene to the west, by 323th Street. They were only identified as three men, without further characteristics of the attackers being provided.

In its statement, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Ángeles did not report whether the driver who hit the victim had remained at the scene after the incident .

The authorities did not provide the identity of the victim pending notification to his relatives.

Detectives from the LASD Homicide Bureau remained at the scene for several hours collecting evidence of the shooting, as well as examining a red car that was parked near the place where the shots occurred.
