Marcelo Flores with Mexico in Qatar?: “I would like to be in the 2022 Qatar World Cup”

Marcelo Flores is one of the greatest promises in world football and what Mexico has for the next few years. The Mexican midfielder who plays for Arsenal has confessed that one of his short-term goals is to accompany to the team that will attend the World Cup in Qatar 2022, which is about to qualify.

“I would like to make my Premier League debut before I am 19 years old. That’s my goal. And I would like to have my international debut properly with Mexico and, hopefully, participate in the World Cup in Qatar”, Flores said in an interview with the Goal portal.

Marcelo also has as idols figures like Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi because they were able to debut in the senior team at their 18 years old, and they were the ones he took as an example during his development as a player.

“I idolize players like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar, who have done same. Looking at players like them, you want to match what they did because, like any player, my biggest dream is to win things like the Champions League and the Ballon d’Or”.

Although his goal is to play with Mexico, due to the recent tragedy that occurred at the Stadium The Corregidora of Querétaro, the father of Marcelo Flores stated that he would not take his children to play in a country where such events occur.

“I would never take my kids to a league where they kill their fans. You have to act fast, it’s sad to attack vs something wonderful”, Rubén Flores, father of the young talent “Gunner”, wrote on his Twitter account.

This phrase caused concern among Aztec fans. After hard work to take him to Mexico, what happened in La Corregidora could be decisive in his decision, not to mention that Canada has been on the lookout for the player.

From El Tri they have worked hard to convince the young Arsenal player from England. Marcelo Flores has the possibility of playing with said European country, in addition to Canada. However, the 18-year-old midfielder has had greater rapprochements with Mexico, even to the point of putting himself under Gerardo’s orders Martino.
