Three students from the Universidad Juárez del Estado de Durango went to the Faculty of Chemical Sciences to intimidate with a weapon of fire to one of the students, so that she drops the charges against her for rape.
One of the students is recognized for being the president of the student society of that Faculty, the second is the secretary of the student federation, the third student accompanied them. They entered the classroom where the young woman, identified as Berenice, was to intimidate her.
The three university students, whose names were only revealed: Carlos, Jonathan and Héctor exchanged a few words with the victim and then one of them took a pistol from his clothes and put it in the young woman’s face.
The student named Carlos was the one who told her that he would kill her if she didn’t withdraw the complaint she had filed for rape in past months.
The other students who were inside the classroom began to call the emergency room, while the aggressors fled from the UJED facilities.
Berenice filed a complaint with the State Prosecutor’s Office last November for sexual abuse and assault, which she had been the victim of by one of the three students who had threatened her.
Professor Rubén Solís Ríos, rector of the University Juarez of the State of Durango, indicated that “the University will not tolerate acts of violence.”
He also added: “All our support for Berenice, for her family and the students of the UJED”. The rector pointed out that instructions were issued so that the issue could be addressed from different points of view.
For his part, Isaac Cisneros, president of the student federation of the UJED, addressed the media that gathered at the facilities of the Institution.
“ These types of criminal acts will not overlap . For this reason, the president of the student society, as well as the aforementioned collaborator, was suspended from his position,” Cisneros pointed out.
The school authorities They will ask the University Council to meet urgently to process the expulsion of the accused
and are processed according to the authorities. For their part, police officers continue the search for the three suspects so that they face their responsibility.
