61-year-old woman in Maryland died from the strong blows her son caused her

Officers from the Prince George’s Police Department went to an address located on the block 2022 of Cherry Hill Road in College Park, where they found an unresponsive older woman who also had trauma and visible bruises.

The woman identified as, Marlene Sloley, 61 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene. The body was transferred to the coroner to perform an autopsy and define the causes of death.

The investigation unit revealed that the suspect in the murder is the son of the deceased, Junior Bernard Jr. who brutally beat his mother until he took her life, after they had a strong argument.

The man of 30 years, lived with his mother in the same apartment. After committing the act of violence, fled the scene to hide in a relative’s house in Landover.

The police followed his trail and found the whereabouts of the accused, where he was arrested, detailed through a statement the Department of the Prince George Police.

Junior Bernard is charged with murder in the first and second degree, as well as other charges related to the homicide. The man is in the custody of the Department of Corrections. A commissioner ordered him held without bail.
