In hard times with fuel, “huachicoleros” appear in Houston; thousands of dollars worth of diesel was stolen

HOUSTON – Police need the help of the community to identify the suspects who stole $8,000 worth of diesel from a gas station facility in the Spring area.

Harris County Precinct 4 Police Department officers responded to a robbery call at the Chevron gas station located down the block from 6114 on Root Street near the North Hampton neighborhood on Monday.

Investigators said that a surveillance video captured the moment the suspects managed to open a gas pump to steal around 1,754 of diesel valued at $8,331.80 of dollars.

The suspects were operating several vehicles, including a Ford model heavy cargo van.

According to Precinct 4 Police Chief Mark Hermann, the driver of the Ford pickup was wearing a yellow jacket with a hood.
