With each passing day, with each statement from its protagonists and those around them, the fight that will take place on May 7 in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Mexican boxer Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez against Dmitry Bivol.
In an interview for the medium FightHype, the Russian boxer did not hold his tongue and lashed out at his rival, whom he disqualified and considered to be overrated:
“Canelo Álvarez can spar against aliens and that doesn’t change anything (…) no matter what least, in the end it’s just sparring”
Not happy with that, he was confident that he will give a good fight and will manage to surprise the one who is considered by the whole world to be boxing as the best fighter today.
“I will do my best to make a good fight . I will try to win and I trust in all my abilities to make it a great fight for everyone out there”, he argued.
Meanwhile, Saúl Álvarez is focused on getting in shape. His last fight was on Saturday, November 6 against Caleb Plant and because he did not have scheduled dates, he has neglected his rigorous training a bit, considering the Christmas dates he lived.
While for Bivol the lawsuit represents a great opportunity to establish himself in boxing and knock down the best in the sport, for Canelo it will be emblematic because it is scheduled for the weekend of May 5 , when the Battle of Puebla is commemorated and represents a symbolic date for Mexican boxers.
That day many people mobilize to watch boxing matches, and Canelo – Bivol will not be the exception.
