In 2021 Lego had 21% more income during the Covid pandemic: adults, also consumers

Lego, a famous brand of toys to assemble, announced that the 2021 was a great year in sales, as their annual income increased by 27%, reaching about $8.06 billion dollars, compared to $6.36 billion in 2020.

According to the company, sales of construction kits continued to increase in 2021, as both children and adults stayed home to build Star Wars and Harry Potter models, even after the Covid social distancing mandate ended.

Unlike other companies in the toy sector, Lego made massive profits during the pandemic, as consumers of all ages showed a great interest for construction games for entertainment purposes.

The brand promoted its extensive catalog of toys through social networks and digital media, which helped to position itself in the commercial market electronic to increase sales.

Lego reported that its best-selling segments included Lego City, Lego Technic, Lego Creator Expert, Lego Harry Potter and LegoStarWars. These kits vary in size and difficulty.

The brand added that the variety of products make it fun for children, as they will learn construction skills , meanwhile, provide a creative option for adults.

Lego noted that as it enters its year 90, expects their growth rates to normalize and transition back to single-digit growth.

Furthermore, the company plans to gradually start to introduce sustainable sales packaging to replace single-use plastic bags to separate bricks from Lego. This is planned for the middle of this year.

During 2020, Lego opened 165 new stores, including 90 in China, bringing its total store count globally to 832. China has become one of the main markets for Lego and has 340 stores in its retail presence global.
