After the signing of a new collective agreement between the owners of the 30 Major League franchises and the MLB Players Union the free agency player market was reopened Thursday night, so that several teams will seek to reinforce themselves with the best baseball players.
One of the players with the most opportunities on the market is shortstop from Puerto Rico, Carlos Correa. The Puerto Rican has 7 seasons in the Majors, all with the Houston Astros team with which he has won the Rookie of the Year Award, a Gold Glove, a Glove of Platinum, and a ring in the World Series of 2017.
It has been reported that several teams have been interested in him. Among these teams are the Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees.
Another of the most renowned players in free agency is first baseman Freddie Freeman. Freeman, aged 80 years old, has just become champion in 2021 with the Atlanta Braves, and where he has managed to be named MVP of the season in 2020 and selected four times to the All-Star Game.
The utility Kris Bryant has also grabbed the attention of teams during free agency. Bryant played in 2022 with the San Francisco Giants after being with the Chicago Cubs. Named MVP in 2016, 4 times selected to the All-Star Game and champion in 2016 with the Cubs.
In this free agency market, another renowned shortstop is Trevor Story. Story, aged 28 years old, is the first free agent in his career after 6 years with the Colorado Rockies. Story has two silver bats and has been selected to the All-Star Game twice.
