The is emerging as one of the best years in the career of Eminem, what a few weeks ago he offered a historic performance at the Super Bowl halftime together with Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dog , Mary J. Blige and 50 Cent.
The popularity of that event resulted in a nomination to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and an increase in views of their singles on the streaming platforms, which in turn has earned 73.5 million new gold and platinum certifications.
In this way, the Detroit-born musician has become the artist with the highest number of certifications granted by the Recording Industry Association of the United States (RIAA, for its acronym in English), which becomes the most awarded in the history of the RIAA c on 166 millions for their singles and 61.5 million for their albums.
The rapper was already considered one of the best-selling music artists of all time, but has now joined the list of the top seven musicians from any music genre or era with three or more diamond records: three for his music albums and three for his singles.
“These awards recognize the unwavering commitment of Eminem with his career and the connection he has forged with fans over the twenty years,” said RIAA President and CEO, Mitch Glazier, in a statement, as reported by Complex.
