Hispanic sentenced for transporting an undocumented minor in Texas

Víctor Manuel Monsiváis, a Mexican national, was sentenced in recent days by a judicial court to 33 months in prison for transferring an 8-year-old boy, illegal and unaccompanied within the country.

The sentenced 67 years old, was arrested in August 2021, inside the parking lot of the HEB store south of San Antonio, Texas. The intention was to hand over the undocumented child to other people, as part of the smuggling of minors that exists from Mexico to the United States.

Special agents from Homeland Security Investigations, as well as police from San Antonio, were already waiting for Monsivais and as soon as the child was handed over, was detained by the authorities and charged with one count of illegal transportation of aliens.

After six months, the court of law passed its sentence

in which he will remain in jail for 33 months. Two women involved in bringing and harboring foreigners were sentenced.

Élida Kassandra Moreno, was sentenced to 36 months in prison and Nery Urióstegui Domínguez to 18 months in prison.
