Former Fox News presenter, Kimberly Guilfoyle, and current fiancée of Donald Trump Jr., who was involved in raising funds for the January 6 rally, was called to testify and provide documents to the special committee of the House of Representatives that investigates the assault on the Capitol.

Bennie Thompson, Committee Leader, stated that Guilfoyle was in the White House on January 6, when former President Donald Trump spoke by phone with former Vice President Mike Pence, whom he then president was pressing to block the certification of the results of the presidential election in November 2020.

“Guilfoyle met with Donald Trump inside the White House, spoke at the rally that took place prior to the January 6 riots and apparently played a key role in organizing and raising funds for that event”, Thompson said.

“Because Ms. Guilfoyle backed out of her original commitment to provide a voluntary interview, we are issuing today’s subpoena that will compel her to testify. We expect her to comply with the law and cooperate”.

This happens one day after the panel revealed that it had evidence pointing to former President Trump and others who “participated in a criminal conspiracy to defraud the United States”.

Likewise, the Committee argued that the conspiracy occurred when the Republican leader and the Associates of his promoted false theories of alleged electoral fraud and that led to pressure on Pence to invalidate the elections.

In Guilfoyle’s summons, the committee suggested that she helped spread the false claims of alleged voter fraud while speaking at the January 6 Ellipse rally.

“We will not let the Liberals and Democrats steal our dream or our elections,” he told the crowd at the time.

For his part, Guilfoyle’s attorney, Joe Tocapina, accused the Committee of the House of Representatives to “defame” the former president and his family .

“This Committee has routinely abused its power and has made it clear through its deceitful and immoral practices that they are not guided by a search for the truth,” the lawyer said, adding that his client “will testify with the truth about any questions”.
