The authorities of San Diego, California, they gave a hit to the Mexican drug traffickers ; they took away a shipment of 1,800 pounds of methamphetamines, valued at $2,900,000 of dollars. The US officials themselves described the seizure as “something never seen before” , since the drug traffickers hid the drug in white balloons to camouflage them with packages of onions.

In a statement released on the Twitter account of Sidney Aki, director of field operations for the San Diego office, the driver of the truck transporting the onions, was detained for a routine check, he became nervous when the police dogs appeared and it was these who detected the drug.
“This was not only a clever attempt at trying to traffic narcotics, one that I had not seen before, if not that it also took a long time to wrap the narcotics in those little packages (…) These efforts show how effective our agents are”, according to Sidney Aki.
The operation was carried out in the Otay Mesa Port, which has become the main access road of the Mexican cartels to introduce drugs in cargo trucks that cross into the United States.
It should be noted that the founder of the Sinaloa Cartel (CDS), Joaquín “el Chapo” Guzmán, was the one who devised at the end of the years 90 and principles of 2000 a plan to hide the cocaine in cans of jalapeño peppers.
