The Mexican Tenoch Huerta attacks soap operas and sends a strong message to Netflix

The controversial Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta is undoubtedly one of the most important actors in current Mexican cinema, however, he caused controversy due to the tweet that he published about Mexican soap operas.

And the fact is that the producer, originally from Mexico City, shared an interview that they did on the Pie de Página portal. The publication was illustrated with a quote from the Mexican: “I don’t like soap operas, I feel that, in terms of talent, stories, narrative, they have nothing to offer me, and I have nothing what to offer soap operas”.

To which Tenoch did not hesitate to share and explain the reason for his comment: “But don’t misunderstand me, in one of those something is done in which my talent and actor’s profile fit or simply makes me hungry”, Huerta wrote ironically .

During the interview, written for the magazine “Pie de Página”, talks about the origin of the actor’s career, the economic difficulties he faced and the discrimination he suffered.

Tenoch sends a message to Netflix

With resounding emphasis and without doubting his words, Tenoch Huerta joined a petition for the companies content producers in Mexico include people with dark skin in their casts, all in order to reflect the reality of our country.

In this way , the actor of 54 years joined the organization’s request ‘ Tight power. After Netflix recently promoted the launch of its new telenovelas, the digital initiative called for racial and sociocultural inclusion in television productions.

In this way, Tenoch condemned that Netflix or other similar platforms contain casts of people of fair complexion and not dark, as he is. With this, he expressed that he leaves aside these profiles.

“To all content producers in Mexico. ENOUGH of speeches of whiteness, of making dark skin invisible. We are the majority, but you are ashamed to live in a brown country, but the privileges that are conferred here do not bother you, right?”, wrote the actor in Laurel’s tweet posting Miranda, activist who participates in the campaign of Prieto Power.
