Thousands of people have gathered in the main avenues and historical monuments of different Russian cities in protest of the invasion against Ukraine. The police have arrested thousands of protesters who are dissatisfied with the decision of the Russian president.
Citizens have marched since early Thursday morning shouting phrases like: “No to war”, knowing that in that country the right to protest causes high fines, jail and even expulsion from where they work or study.
Despite knowing the restrictions that exist for demonstrating, the activists have asked the population not to pay attention and continue to take to the streets.
So far around 1700 people have been detained in 51 Russian cities, the vast majority have been in the country’s capital, detailed the specialized NGO OVD-Info.
