A Frontier Airlines flight from New York to Orlando had to make an emergency landing after a passenger crazy scream that a woman sitting behind him was pricking him with a needle to steal his DNA .
The flight 1335 was en route from LaGuardia Airport to Florida Wednesday night when the man made the claim and began threaten the other passengers, including a baby, and said he would kill everyone on board, reported the WTVD network.
Savannah Figueroa, one of the passengers, told WRAL that the passenger “was really loud and obnoxious from the beginning”.
“The passenger who was sitting behind him was a lady oh his autistic son… so I guess they pushed him and touched him from behind and he started freaking out and claiming that ‘these people keep putting their hands on me, they’re trying to stick me with needles, they’re trying to collect my DNA,’” said Figueroa to the media.
“’I don’t know what they want to do with it, maybe for money or maybe to sell it,’ said the passenger. ‘I don’t care if he is a lady and her son, I will beat them both. I don’t care who he is. I’ll put my hands on anyone on this plane,’” he added.
When the flight attendants asked him what was wrong and told him to lower the voice, the man went even more crazy, Figueroa said.
“There were like waves where he would calm down and just stop talking completely and then was starting to talk again,” he told WRAL.
Video captured by a passenger shows crew members blocking the door of the cabin, while the passengers, including a police officer, help restrain the deranged man using their belts and bridles.
“I guess they were nervous that he tried to attack the pilot and bring down the entire plane,” Figueroa told the station.
According to reports, at one point, the man delirious tried to break a window.
“That’s when they jumped on him and tried to kill him. hold it,” he said. “There were at least five or six other men who stood up…they began to take off their belts and tried to hold him down.”
Figueroa said that she feared for her life and wished she could send a final message to her loved ones, “but they don’t have WiFi on that plane, so she was basically a pushover.”
“He was threatening the children, the woman and everyone on the plane, saying he was going to kill us all”, he said.
The The flight was diverted to Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina, where police removed the man from the plane. He has not been identified and his status was not immediately available. The plane remained on the ground for about two hours before resuming its journey to Orlando, where it landed at 23: 17 hours.
