Things are heating up on Estrella TV with the premiere of “MasterChef Latinos

” the 10 February at 8pm/7c. The culinary show will pit contestants against each other in each episode until the season’s grand winner is crowned.

And to find the best chef, you need a group of expert judges and this kitchen has three stars, which on this occasion are: Chef Claudia Sandoval , Chef Adrián Herrera and Chef Benito Molina.

Before the great premiere of the competition, we were able to speak with the Chef Herrera to tell us about his experience doing the show. The chef knows the format of the show perfectly since he has been a judge on the Mexican version for several seasons. In this edition, the participants are not only from Mexico, but there are participants from all over Latin America.

“The kitchen is made up of a series of codes that involve aromas, textures, cooking techniques, ingredients, colors, shapes to present… it is something very complex”, explained Chef Herrera. “Each cook brings a different code. Of course, it is a code that shares similarities with all of us because we are Latin Americans, however, this makes the experience richer”.

Be a judge of “MasterChef Latinos”, has brought Chef Herrera several surprises since there are some dishes that the contestants have presented that were new to him.

“There are dishes that I did not know, there were others that I had heard of but had not tried,” he said. “I live in Monterrey, Mexico, and it is not cosmopolitan and there are not people from all over the world here. It is a subject of many surprises for us as judges”.

Although there are some flavors that are not to your personal taste, this does not subtracts from the rating that could be given to the participants.

“There is a very elementary thing here and there are two types of cuisines in the world: the one that is done well and the one that is not”, said the chef between laughs. “It’s not the one I like or the one I don’t like. There are dishes that I may not like but if it is well executed, that is what I am going to evaluate. It means that they have a balance, that the cooking of proteins and vegetables are at the point they should be. Yes, there are objective elements to criticize a dish, it is not a matter of taste”.

Chef Herrera also announced that during the season there will be field challenges where we will see the participants in different areas outside the kitchen of “MasterChef Latinos”. And finally, invites you not to miss the show because the audience will be able to learn a lot along with the contestants.

They’re going to say, ‘Hey, that dish was served to me, I grew up with this kitchen.’ And you’re going to see a great ID on TV”.
