The NFL will return to the Azteca Stadium in 2022 and will go to Germany: Roger Goodell confirmed the news

After the 2020 the NFL suspended all its games outside the national territory due to the pandemic, and after the 2021 left Mexico out of the game considering that the contagion rates were too high, Commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed that this custom of visiting the country of south will be resumed and that there will be a game at the Azteca Stadium, tentatively next November.

In his traditional press conference before the Super Bowl, Goodell stated that two teams from the league will play a regular season duel there this year, although they did not reveal who will.

“Yes, we were disappointed not to go to Mexico last year. We feel that from a security point of view it was not the right decision, we made it with our partners in Mexico and we are very happy to say that we will be back. We have spoken with partners, with public officials and we will be back in Mexico, probably around November of this year”, he explained.

In such a way that the NFL would return to Mexico, after the 2021 the visit of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Falcons, who would play at the Azteca Stadium as part of the week, will be canceled 12 of the campaign.

The last time the neighboring country received NFL teams was in the 2019, when the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers met in Mexico City, with a victory for 24-17 for the first ones.
