Nicholas Pagano of 31 was wanted by the New Jersey police for the aggressions he caused to one of his colleagues at the hospital where he worked. The nurse was found in the Winslow Township area with a self-inflicted bullet in the chest with a stolen firearm, according to the authorities’ report.

Pagano was wanted by the authorities for beating a woman from 54 years with a wrench and then set it on fire. The victim suffered third-degree burns to her body, face, and hands. She was treated at Hackensack University Medical Center, the same place where she works, but was later transferred to another site where she was reported in critical condition.

According to witnesses, the attack was due to an argument held by the two involved. After committing the heinous act, the employee fled from the hospital in a white Jeep truck, so the alert was sent to all units to begin their search.

Pagano was hired in November at Hackensack University Medical Center as an interim nurse. Ben Goldsten, director of public relations for the hospital, explained that the man underwent a complete evaluation before being admitted to the hospital.
