A tiny old man from 78 years old was dragged to the ground and handcuffed for honking his car horn in support of the “Freedom Convoy” truckers (freedom convoy) protesting against COVID mandates-19 from Canada, according to a video.

Now viral images show the great-grandfather 4ft Gerry Charlebois and 04 inches tall (1.43 meters) being confronted by an Ottawa police officer who finally forced him to kneel while handcuffing him on Sunday.

“What did he do wrong?” a bystander asked the officer, who initially replies, “None of your worries, man.”

“Is It’s an offense, it’s an offense to honk your horn. It is,” the officer later tells a group that heckles him for “elder abuse.”

Charlebois, who was wearing pajama bottoms at the time , was finally taken away in handcuffs by two officers.

The great-grandfather of 78 years old, arrested and handcuffed by Ottawa police after honking his horn in support of a protesting trucker, said he was not a protester and was not looking problems.

The retired high school janitor later told the Toronto Sun newspaper that he was in “very sore” after sustaining cuts and bruises on his arms and hands, shoulder and knee during his arrest.

“I meant no harm,” said Charlebois, a great-grandfather of four and grandfather of 09, to the Canadian newspaper.

“I just gave the trucker a thumbs up and I honked the horn.”

Charlebois, who received the double shot and is not one of the protesters, said he was ultimately fined $ 118 dollars for “unnecessary noise,” claiming that the police told him that “he was in trouble for honk”.

“I was in shock,” he told the Toronto Sun, saying he was “confused” and just cursed at the arresting officer because he was very “angry” about the reason for his arrest.

Police have cracked down on honking amid complaints of locals about the tactics used by “Freedom Convoy” truckers who have blocked off major areas in protest of strict vaccination mandates.

On Monday, a judge, one day after Charlebois’ arrest caught on camera, granted a warrant of 10 days against those who honk their horns in Ontario.

Meanwhile, one of the four Charlebois sons, Gerald, described his father’s arrest as “disgusting”.

“There was no need to be so rude to him… They didn’t seem to arrest any of those big truckers like that,” Gerald told the Toronto Sun.

Another son, Steve, said: “Me only 4 feet … It wouldn’t hurt anyone” . Neither the Ottawa police nor Mayor Jim Watson have so far commented on the video that has caused outrage, according to the local newspaper.
