Dora Cadavid, Inesita from 'I am Betty, the Ugly' dies

The actress Dora Cadavid, known for giving life to the character of Inés in the telenovela ‘Yo Soy Betty, la Fea’ , died at 84 years of undisclosed causes, according to various media.

María Cecilia Botero, niece of the famous, confirmed the death in some interviews.

Cadavid was born in November 1937 in Medellín, Colombia, and from a young age she was very attached to the show, since she used to run away from school to go to radio booths and give her voice to villain roles in radio soap operas.

Later in her career, she managed to become a poetry reciter for the local radio program ‘La Voice of Antioquia’, work for which she was discovered by the producer Fausto Cabrera, who helped her get to the theater and television.

Her first job on stage was with the play ‘ Spectros’, after which he had appearances in shows and staging with mo ‘Rasputin’, ‘Bodas de Sangre’, ‘Café con Aroma de Mujer’ and ‘Señora Bonita’, among others.

Inesita, as her character in ‘Yo Soy Betty, la Fea’, gave her international star popularity thanks to the tenderness she instilled in many viewers and the chemistry she had with other roles, especially with Hugo Lombardi, played by Julián Arango. She retired from public life in 2017.
