From his column “In the third person”, of the Mexican newspaper El Universal, the journalist Héctor de Mauleón gave details of how the protection network of the authorities of the state that governs the former soccer player Cuahtémoc Blanco operated. towards Raymundo Castro Salgado, El Ray, plaza boss of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel .

As a result of the publication of a photo de Blanco with three alleged leaders of the drug cartels that operate in the entity, De Mauleón has documented through his column the relations of the president of Morelos with them.

According to the journalist, El Ray arrived at the Atlacholoaya prison on May 8, 2019 and his entry was witnessed by the state coordinator of the prison system in Morelos, Israel Ponce de León, as well as by Raúl Colín Martínez, operational director of Atlacholoaya and Miriam Mirel is, director of penitentiary centers of the state. Ponce de León issued instructions so that the member of the CJNG receive special treatment “and he He would deliver everything he asked for.” His instructions were reproduced, according to De Mauleón, by the Cereso’s operational director, Raúl Colín Martínez, and Commander Armando Carmona, head of security at Atlacholoaya.

El Ray was housed in the area known as El Paraíso, where inmates paid up to 25 thousand pesos weekly to have access to all the amenities, such as cell phones, high definition screens, recliners and minibar . In addition to these privileges, the Ray had access to wine, women and the visit of friends and collaborators. The criminal boss was totally separated from the rest of the population.

With the support of the authorities, the Ray became control of the prison and began with the collection of flat, extortion, the sale of alcohol and narcotics, which generated inconvenience and friction between inmates.

Finally, on October 9, 2019 a riot broke out that left one dead and ten wounded. The next day, in another riot “articulated from above,” according to the columnist’s sources, they killed Ray. The Jalisco Cartel’s plaza boss received dozens of wounds caused by sharp instruments and blunt force blows. They beat him to death and burned his body. The revolt caused Colín Martínez and Miriam Mireles to be removed from their positions. Ponce de León was not touched.

Due to these and other events, on Tuesday the former Morelos security commissioner, Alberto Capella, filed a complaint with the FGR against Cuauhtémoc Blanco and a group of his collaborators, for the crimes of organized crime and against health.
