The Democratic Party in Arizona censored formally to his senator Kyrsten Sinema after letting die the electoral law that protected the right to vote.
Sinema voted against eliminating the norms of the congress and thus pass the electoral law. The rejection was forceful by the Democratic Party and the Republicans themselves shook hands with Sinema after her refusal.
“Choosing between an archaic piece of legislation and protecting the right to vote for the people of Arizona, we chose the latter and we always will,” said the President Raquel Terán regarding the actions of Kyrsten Sinema.
“We don’t like this ad, the Executive Board of the Arizona Democratic Party -ADP Executive Board, made the decision to formally censor the Senator Sinema
as a result of their failure to do whatever it takes to ensure the health of our democracy.”
The negative reaction towards Kyrsten Sinema
After the decision not to protect the electoral law , Kyrsten Sinema has been singled out not only by the Democratic Party, but also by groups that finance electoral campaigns.
Emily’s List, the largest group in the financing of candidates Democrats and helped raise Kyrsten Sinema as a senator, they mentioned that can withdraw their economic effort granted to Sinema.
“Understanding that access to the polls and confidence in election results are critical to our work in our country, we join with many others to pressure the Senator Sinema on the importance of the pending vote for electoral rights in the Senate. So far, they have not been resolved.”
Emily’s List was the group that financially supported Kyrsten Sinema the most in the election to occupy a seat in the senate in the elections of 2018.
Reports also indicate that the Democratic Party itself is looking for Rubén Gallego as a contender for Sinema.
The congressman of the Arizona’s 7th District has “met with considerable encouragement from elected officials, senators and unions of traditional Democratic groups, donors of weight” so that he fights for the place of Sinema in the Senate .
