Mexican coach Luis Fernando Tena, current coach of Guatemala, has not been able to start his cycle with the Central American team due to lack of flights that made it impossible to face the teams of Belize and Nicaragua.

Due to a triangular match scheduled to be played in Managua, the Guatemalan National Team was unable to obtain private flights from Guatemala City and they were also unable to contract a charter flight to reach Nicaraguan soil.

Gerardo Paiz, president of the Guatemalan FedeFut offered some statements to ESPN explaining the situation of the selection and the delay in the debut as coach of Luis Fernando Tena, due to the lack of air supply to reach the destination.

“No flights were found to Nicaragua and a charter cost more than 100 thousand dollars. Belize will travel to Honduras and then by land to Nicaragua, but Tena preferred not to do that so as not to ‘kill’ the players and out of respect for the clubs to which they belong”, commented Gerado Paiz , the president of Fedefut.
