The Chicago Cubs signed this Monday the Panamanian baseball player Adán Sánchez, just 16 years, for the sum of 1.5 million dollars, the largest bonus for a player signed by this country in the big top.
In an event held in the Panamanian capital, together with his family and the media, Sánchez signed a contract that will give him the opportunity to seek a place in the best baseball in the world.

At 2021 Sánchez was among the 50 international prospects considered by the MLB.
The player revealed that the number 25 that he will wear on his bib is due to his younger sister, being a good luck charm for the Panamanian , who comes to command the list of Isthmian baseball players with a signature of over a million dollars.
In 2019, Chiricano (Panamanian province of Chiriquí, bordering Costa Rica) Reginald Preciado signed for 1.3 million dollars with the San Diego Padres and in 2015 catcher Miguel Amaya, also with the Chicago Cubs, signed a contract for 1.25 million dollars.
Precisely Amaya, through a video call, congratulated her colleague and welcomed him to the organization.
Sánchez, born and raised in the province of Panama Oeste, near the Panamanian capital, plays third base and catcher, is a player who has experience in national and international tournaments, including the Little League World Series in Williamsport 2018, World Cup South Korea U12 2017 and the World Cup U15 2020.
