A nurse of 70 years old died from the injuries he received on Thursday from an assault at a bus stop in downtown Los Angeles , they reported this Sunday the authorities.
The nurse at the LAC+USC Medical Center, identified as Sandra Shells, suffered a skull fracture when she was attacked by a subject apparently without any provocation.
“Sandra Shells will always be remembered for her compassionate care and his unmatched dedication to his patients and his community throughout his career as 38 years at LAC+USC. Sandra worked tirelessly and selflessly to keep her patients safe and healthy, and will always be remembered as a kind, compassionate and generous nurse, with a helpful and caring nature, who was a favorite with colleagues and patients. There will never be enough words to express our gratitude for their tremendous work and dedication”, expressed the LAC+USC Medical Center in a statement.
The aggression it happened approximately at 5: 15 Thursday am at the bus stop located at the corner of César E. Chávez Avenue and Vignes Street.
The suspect, identified as Kerry Bell, assaulted Shells by punching her in the face without provocation or reason. The authorities said that, due to the attack, the nurse fell to the ground and fractured her skull.
In critical condition, Shells was taken to a hospital, where she passed away over the weekend.
Shortly after the assault, Bell was located near the scene of the incident and was taken into custody. The attacker has a history of a previous arrest in Los Angeles, and many others in different states of the country .
An updated charge of suspicion is now added to the indictment against Kerry Bell of murder.
