A Miami Police officer shot a teenager from 15 years after a car chase and the young man is hospitalized in critical condition

, the authorities reported this Sunday.

It all started when the vehicle that the young man was driving refused to obey the order to stop, which sparked a chase that ended when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a fence.

The driver and passengers fled the scene and the police officer chased the teenager behind the wheel.

After a confrontation, the agent, who emerged from the confrontation unharmed , shot the young man, who was apparently armed.

Miami-Dade Police Detective Álvaro Zabaleta said in statements rec heard by the local television channel 10 that the young man had a gun and an “assault rifle inside the vehicle”.

The young man was wanted “for possession of firearms,” ​​said the agent.

Police did not report how many shots the teenager, who was identified as Vito Corleone-Venisee, received, the Miami Herald reported.

The other occupants of the vehicle are still fugitives.
