Footballer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will not be able to play for the Gabon national team after the player was removed from the national team due to heart injuries after overcoming COVID.
“According to the commission CAF medical team, the players Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Axel Meyé and Mario Lemina have just recovered from COVID-19 but will not be able to play this match. The tests showed heart injuries and the CAF does not want to take any risk”, assured the Gabonese Federation.
The player was infected days before the African Cup of Nations. He was also photographed at a party in Dubai with several teammates in which they did not respect any of the health protocols.
The Gabonese team has four points after two games in the African Cup of Nations. In the first game they defeated Comoros 1-0, and then they got the draw 1-1 against Ghana. Their last game of the group stage will be against Morocco.
