Woman has two-colored tongue, since half is a transplant from her thigh
A British physician revealed how currently it is possible to replace the tongue of patients, using the skin of their thigh , after a woman now has a two-toned tongue .
Posting on TikTok, Dr. Karan Rajan responded to a woman who posted a video about her surgery .
The woman stuck out her tongue, which was slightly discolored, and asked the followers what they had replaced her with.
She then moved the camera to her legs and tensed her muscle to reveal a gap from where she took the piece of skin .
Dr. Rajan explained: “Doctors can make a new tongue out of the meat of your thigh.
“Muscle and skin can be removed from the leg; It is called the anterolateral thigh flap.
“This flap gives the new tongue its own blood supply.
“So surgeons have to get artistic and fold it right.
This is a A procedure that can sometimes be done in people who have had oral cancer.
Reconstructive surgeons can repair soft tissue from removed parts of the tongue of parts of the abdomen or leg.
If a person’s tongue has been removed, it is called a glossectomy.
“Glossectomy is the surgical removal of part or all of the tongue. This can be used to remove the cancer ”, as defined by the UK National Health Service (NHS).

Some people who undergo the procedure often grow hair on the tongue and this is because the tissue comes from a place where hair grows frequently, like legs.
