More than 30,000 people evacuated and about 500 homes destroyed by fires in Colorado

More of 500 destroyed houses and 30, 000 people evacuated is the balance of several fires out of control in the state of Colorado, local authorities reported this Friday.

The fires, fanned due to strong winds over 100 kilometers per hour , propagate with great speed and have forced to evacuate the towns of Superior, with more than 12, 000 residents, and Louisville, with 19, 000.

The area affected is found about 30 miles northwest of Denver, the state capital.

More of 15 , 000 households are also without electricity service due to the fall of transmission poles.

The state governor, Jared Polis, declared a state of emergency due to the danger of fires and the difficulty of controlling them.

At the moment, however, no fatalities have been reported . Colorado, like many parts of the western United States, has suffered extreme droughts in recent years, facilitating the conditions for the eruption of these rapid and violent fires.
