Santa Claus receives powerful help from marines to deliver gifts in Alaska

Girls and Boys of the Arctic Region of Alaska received gifts this month from Santa Claus or some of his unexpected helpers: United States Marines.

With everything and their snowmobiles, the marines gave a hand to Santa to fulfill this mission.

They traveled to Kotzebue, 42 miles or 42 miles ahead of the Arctic Circle, and from there brought toys to about 2, 500 children in 11 locations , filling them with smiles.

“When you can see the smile through the mask, you know that is a huge and genuine smile , ”Corporal Brendan Mullin, who witnessed and photographed the children’s surprise, told The Associated Press. seeing their gifts.

This mission was part of the Toys for Tots , of the United States Marine Corps, from the hand of a non-profit foundation. It was born in 1947, and currently delivers around 18 million toys to seven million children.

“It really is just to benefit the children. The sparkle in his eyes makes it worth it ”, Keith G. Lowell, captain who oversaw the mission in a region of northwestern Alaska.

“The weather is always an obstacle here. We are trained for it, we had the right equipment. I cannot thank the local population enough, who helped us to repair the snowmobiles or lent us theirs to make the deliveries ”, he added excitedly.
