Authorities reported that a surfer died after an apparent shark attack in Morro Bay , on the central coast of California , on Friday.
Harbor and Morro Bay police and fire crews were called to the beach around 10: 30 am after the Surfer’s body was pulled out of the water north of Atascadero Road.
Surfer was pronounced dead at the scene. His name and age have not been disclosed.
Researchers say beaches and state park areas remain open, but locals and visitors must stay out of the water for the next 24 hours.
