The United States Congress managed to certify the presidential election, which ensures the inauguration of the presidency of Joe Biden he 20 January.

Although 127 Republican congressmen opposed recognizing the Electoral College vote – which endorsed 550 for the Democrat and 232 for the president Donald Trump -, his movement was insufficient and was relegated after the violent invasion of the Capitol by followers of the president .

Along with the sessions of the House of Representatives and the Senate, a movement began to develop to apply the E Amendment 25 to President Trump.

One of the strongest voices is that of the Democratic leader in the Senate, Charles Schumer (New York), who requested this Thursday the immediate dismissal of the president, due to his role in urging his followers to be violent.

“What happened yesterday in the United States Capitol was an insurrection against the United States, incited by the president … This president should not hold office for another day” , considered Schumer.

The Democratic leader called on the vice president Mike Pence to invoke the Amendment 25, which allowed him and the Cabinet take power away from President Trump .

“The fastest and most effective way, which is feasible today, to remove this president from office would be for the vice president to immediately invoke the Amendment 25. If the vice president and the cabinet refuse to stand up, Congress must meet again to impeach the president ”, he pointed out.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi (California), has not commented on the matter, but could do so in the next few hours. She could lead a new trial against the Republican president.

Among the Republicans, Representative Adam Kinzinger (Illinois) became the first to call for the impeachment of the president Trump in the same way.

“Here’s the truth. The president caused this. The president is unfit and the president is unwell. And the president must now give up control of the executive branch voluntarily or involuntarily, ”said Kinzinger.

It’s with a heavy heart I am calling for the sake of our Democracy that the 25 th Amendment be invoked. My statement: pic.twitter.com/yVyQrYcjuD
