For the second time this week, the House of Representatives panel investigating the January 6 riots on Capitol Hill has publicly requested to interview a sitting congressman .

This is the epublican r by Ohio Jim Jordan , whom this committee has requested information and questioning.

“We understand that you communicated at least once and possibly several times with President Trump January 6th. We would like to discuss each of these communications with you in detail, ”reads the panel’s letter from Bennie Thompson, Democrat chairing the panel, to Jordan.

The Democrat further says that Jordan “You may also have information on meetings with White House officials and the then President in November and December 2020, and at the beginning of January of 2021, on the strategies to override the election results of 2020 .

Jordan is still considered a person close to Trump and one of the strongest defenders of the former president’s statements about an alleged fraud in the elections.

In October, during a hearing on a motion to hold Steve Bannon in contempt for refusing to go to the summons of the House of Representatives, the legislator reiterated those affirmations.

Of course, I spoke with the president ”, reiterated Jordan that same day before members of the Rules Commission .
