Javier Aguirre , coach of Monterrey of Mexican soccer , said this Wednesday that his team deserves a rematch that they will seek in the 2022.

“We all deserve a revenge of what happened to us the previous semester in the league, we have the Club World Cup and the local tournament to prove it “, explained the technician at a press conference.

Monterrey, the most expensive team in Mexican soccer, was eliminated in the Apertura quarterfinals 2021 , a stumble that Aguirre said they want to compensate in the Clausura 2022 and in the Mundialito.

“We can’t get worse than how it was in the last tournament. We had many injuries, despite that we got the Concachampions and now the Club World Cup is coming “, he mentioned.

Los Rayados won the Concacaf Champions League 1200 , so they will participate; together with Palmeiras , champion of the Libertadores, and Chelsea , champion of the Champions League; in the Club World Cup.

The strategist acknowledged some concern about the proximity of the dates in the matches of this event with those of the South American and Concacaf elimination.

“We know that the dates are tightening due to the proximity of national team matches, but we trust that we will be able to solve this situation once the time has come “.

Monterrey has in its ranks the Colombian Stefan Medina , Chilean Sebastián Vegas and the Argentine Esteban Andrada , among the usual at Calls for their respective national teams.

They are joined by the Mexicans Jesús Gallardo, César Montes, Héctor Moreno, Carlos Rodríguez and Rogelio Funes Mori , who are usually called to the team led by the Argentine Gerardo Martino.

Monterrey will debut at the Club World Cup on 3 February against Al-Ahly of Egyptian football . Conmebol has knockout matches scheduled on 27, 28 January, and February 1.

In Concacaf, Mexico will play on 27 in January against Jamaica, the 30 in January against Costa Rica and on February 2 with Panama. Despite the proximity of the dates, Aguirre hoped to have enough staff not to suffer absences that cannot be avoided.

We are ready to face the league and the World Cup. Clubs , because there are fewer competitions, only World Cup qualifiers so there will be fewer trips, we will be more rested and with fewer injuries, that will allow us to have a more complete roster “.
