2021 recap: list of current world boxing champions

After the break of 2020 due to the global pandemic, in 2021 international boxing made a strong comeback, leaving behind great battles and new world champions that amazed fans of the sport of fists.

Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez had another perfect year again and ended up being the undisputed champion by beating Caleb Plant. He is now a super middleweight champion of the World Boxing Organization, International Boxing Federation, World Boxing Association (super), World Boxing Council and The Ring.

Oleksandr Usyk gave the big blow in front of Anthony Joshua and is champion of the World Boxing Association (super) (WBA), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Organization (WBO) of the heavy weight.

For many the best fight of the year was the last of the Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder. They hit each other until the Gipsy King put the American to sleep to end the year with the belts of the World Boxing Council (WBC) and The Ring.

George Kambosos Jr. gave a lunge to Teofimo López and won the belts of the WBO, IBF, WBA and Lightweight Champion “franchise” of the World Boxing Council (WBC).
