In the Austin and San Antonio area The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch for Kerr, Kendall, Real, Edwards, Bandera, Val Verde, Comal, Hays, and Gillespie counties.

This is due to the arrival of a “historic” winter storm that could leave between three and six inches of snow in the Hill Country area, north of San Antonio.

The storm will also bring winter precipitation in the form of freezing rain and sleet for other counties in central and southern Texas, including endo to Bexar.

In North Texas the authorities ask motorists from Fort Worth – Dallas not to hit the roads and this territory would be one of the most battered by the storm.

The Winter Storm Warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Fort Worth. The notice covers all of North Texas, including the Metroplex.

It went into effect at 6 am Saturday 13 February and runs through Monday 15 February at 6 p.m. Snow accumulations of 3-6 inches will be possible in the region, with higher accumulations in some areas.

Freezing rain and sleet may appear lightly on Saturday, especially north of Highway I – 20, but it will be Sunday and Monday when the snow will reach more areas. Temperatures will be below 20 ° F.
