A van loaded with Salvation Army toys , valued at $ 6, 000 dollars that were to be distributed to hundreds of children , was stolen this week from the parking lot of a store in Farmington.

The Farmington police requested through their Facebook page the help of citizens to find the white minivan.
Brown mentioned that a group of detectives is conducting interviews following Tuesday’s robbery and that an investigation is ongoing.
The toys would be distributed on 20 from December to more than 350 children . Now, the hope is to replace the stolen toys before this Monday.
Farmington Salvation Army Lt. Christopher Rockwell told KOB-TV station: “Shock, disbelief, how could anyone do that, especially in a marked vehicle, taking gifts for the kids. ”
Rockwell said that despite the incident the Farmington community is responding to big thing by donating more toys and money.
The Salvation Army operates in 25 centers throughout New Mexico and provides religious services, food, shelter and clothing for the homeless.
