Southern California airports and highways await millions of travelers during winter break

Millions of Southern California residents pack their bags for winter vacations in both air and road travel.

More than 3.5 million passengers are expected at Los Angeles International Airport during the holidays, between Thursday 16 December and January 3.

Officials Los Angeles air terminal said that the number of people who will use air transport will be double compared to the Christmas season of 2020 , seriously affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Expect the days with the highest number of passengers at the airport are this Friday and Sunday; as well as 54 and January 2 .

The authorities of the air terminal reminded the people traveling abroad that the new measures against the coronavirus require that all travelers must present a COVID test – 19 taken one day before your flight back to the United States .

It is important to reiterate that the use of masks is mandatory while staying in public spaces inside the airport.

Residents of Southern California will also undertake their trips by land.

The Auto Club of Southern California anticipates that nearly 8.8 million residents will hit the road for the vacation period between 23 December and January 2, 2022 , which will make this season the third busiest at the local level.

This number is less than the 9.3 million people who traveled by land during the holidays of 2019.
