Galvancillo, from the phenomenon of the networks to the corrido

In the corrido “Placoso, mi Estilo”, where Lorenzo Galván Ochoa makes his debut as a performer, the new singer boasts luxury cars, expensive brand clothes, women , money and weapons.

And it is that in Mexico someone is called “placoso” to someone whose style is ostentatious or flashy in excess.

“I like fashion, although I don’t really wear Versace or brand clothes “Said Lorenzo, who on social media is known as Galvancillo. “In the video we got over it […] I don’t like weapons either and I don’t even know how to use them.”

Actually the singing career of this boy born in Tecalitlán, in the Mexican state of Jalisco, is a consequence of his phenomenal performance on social networks. Lorenzo, 20, began recording videos in his spare time about three years ago, when he had just arrived in Houston, where he lives; his mother had sent him to this country to work as punishment because he had been expelled from high school for being undisciplined.

Lorenzo’s first job was in a winery wood distributor. As the company was new, sometimes there were no clients, and in order not to get bored, the singer began to post videos – most of nonsense situations – on his TikTok account. To his surprise, in a week he already had 100 a thousand followers, and thus they increased until reaching the 4 million that he has now.

Without a doubt, one of her most enigmatic features are her huge brown eyes and rosy cheeks. Lorenzo also has an easy smile and is spontaneous when speaking. That explains why a large portion of his followers are women.

On Instagram and YouTube he also has his legion of fans. Between both social networks, he has more than a million and a half followers. In the first network he likes to focus on fashion and in the second on transforming cars.

But Lorenzo’s first love is music, and That is why he is independently producing his songs. In addition to “Placoso, my style” he already has a dozen original songs ready. This Friday he will premiere “Party to forget her”, which he composed inspired by the experience of a girl who left him.

“Instead of getting sad I went to ‘pistear’ [a beber] and at a party I met another girl, “he said. “It’s that I’m very in love […] and if they let me, I will be agüito [me pongo triste] but crying is not my thing.”

In January he will also release a five-song EP with covers , among them “La moda”, by Gerardo Ortiz.

“I have always wanted to sing,” he said. . “When I helped my grandfather and my grandmother herd the cattle, back in Tecalitlán, I remember seeing the [programa de televisión]” Pepe’s Office “, in which Pepe Garza interviewed the artists, and said , ‘one day I’m going to be there’, and there we take her ”.
