A complete group of sixth graders from a school in the town of Yorba Linda , in Orange County, is in quarantine this week after large numbers of students tested positive for COVID – 19.
School officials reported that 37 students and two school staff members Travis Ranch were listed as confirmed coronavirus cases , while hundreds of students were identified as close contacts.
The school authorities and the Orange County Health Agency made the decisions to safeguard students, staff, and families of campus students.
Travis Ranch School is part of the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District .
“The district does not take this decision lightly and apologizes for the inconvenience; however, this determination was made with the safety of students, staff, and families as the absolute top priority, ”the school district reported in a statement.
Among the measures adopted was the disinfection and cleaning of the entire school, after the infections were reported.
Also All major gatherings and school sponsored programs at all grade levels were canceled or postponed.
Students will remain in quarantine this week, until Friday 17 of December, and they will continue with their classes virtually.
