The passion for a football club can lead a fan to the extreme of assaulting or swearing to death to someone. In this case a group of fans threatened the Sportivo Luqueño players ahead of Saturday’s crucial game against Sport Ameliano and that defines whether they continue in the Paraguayan first division.
The Paraguayan police announced an operation to protect the lives of the players not only from Luqueño but also from Ameliano.
“There will be reinforced coverage before, during and after the game, “said police chief, commissioner Feliciano Ferreira, at a press conference in Asunción.
A group of unknown fans vandalized the entrance to the club’s offices and painted the phrase “win or die” , which alarmed from the workers to the club’s board of directors, without leaving out the squad led by Argentine coach Miguel Angel Zahzú.
