NASA invites you to see the arrival of the Perseverance rover to Mars, in Spanish

Among the many firsts from NASA’s Perseverance rover mission to Mars is the first program in Spanish of the space agency to broadcast on I live a planetary landing.

Thursday 21 February 2: 30 pm, the NASA will broadcast “Together we persevere” , a program that will provide viewers an overview of the mission to Mars and will highlight the role that Hispanic professionals at NASA have played in its success.

The program will air at 2: 30 pm EST on the website of the agency and in their social media accounts in Spanish: Twitter , Facebook and YouTube .

“Together we persevere” will begin broadcast prior to the landing of Perseverance on the Red Planet, which will take place at approximately 3: 55 pm EST.

The first program in Spanish of a historic mission

“Together we persevere” will be presented by the engineer of Perseverance Diana Trujillo.

A pre-recorded section will include interviews with Hispanic NASA scientists, engineers and astronauts.

As well there will be a children’s segment in collaboration with Sesame.

Students and prominent Hispanic figures from the worlds of entertainment, journalism and politics will also send messages of support.

Diana Trujillo will offer live translation from English to Spanish and commentary during the entry, descent and landing phase of Perseverance on Mars.

The mission of Perseverance on Mars

The Perseverance rover will search for signs of past microbial life, collect selected rock and sediment samples to Its future shipment to Earth, will characterize the geology and climate of Mars and pave the way for future human exploration beyond the Moon.

This is the fifth rover of NASA on Mars and, if successful, will be NASA’s ninth landing on the Red Planet.

All landings on Mars are difficult, but NASA’s Perseverance rover is trying to land on the most challenging terrain on Mars ever attacked .

Perseverance also carries a technological experiment, the Mars Ingenuity Helicopter , which will attempt to carry out the first controlled and powered flight on another planet.
