Pitcher supporting Trump wall officially introduced with Dodgers

The star starter Trevor Bauer was introduced this Thursday at Dodger Stadium as the new figure of the Los Angeles Dodgers roster, current World Series champion. The right-handed pitcher, who had almost everything ready to be linked with the New York Mets, by changing course in the direction of California, becomes the highest paid player in MLB history in 2021 and 2022 .

However, his career has not been absent of controversy; in 2016 Bauer openly showed his support for one of the most questioned proposals of former President Donald Trump, who proposed the construction of a wall along the border with Mexico that would keep illegal immigrants out of the country.

“I am in favor of the wall. And keep illegal immigrants out. Come to this country legally or don’t come. Period ”, wrote Bauer on Twitter.

The chance to win a World Series with the team of his hometown weighed Bauer when deciding. Bauer attended Hart High School in Santa Clarita and played at UCLA.

Bauer is coming off his best season in the majors after registering 1. 73 ERA and striking out 100 batters in 73 episodes . Also, won the Cy Young Award of the National League.
