The Memphis Grizzlies won this Thursday the Oklahoma City Thunder by 73 points (148 – 79), a gigantic and historic difference in the score that represents a new NBA record .

Until now, the highest margin in an NBA game was in a game of 17 from December to 1991 in which the Cleveland Cavaliers destroyed the Miami Heat by 68 points (148 – 80).

The Grizzlies (11 – 10) surpassed that mark on a perfect night in which they disintegrated the Thunder (6 – 16), which are one of the worst teams so far season.

The statistics at the end of the game reflected the magnitude of the beating of the Memphis. Nine Grizzlies players beat the 10 points with Jaren Jackson Jr. as top scorer with 27.

The local set boasted precision with a 62, 5% accuracy in field shots and a 41, 8% in triples (23 from 36). In contrast, the Thunder only made the 36, 9% of his shots and the 28, 9% of his attempts of three (11 from 38).

The Grizzlies dealt 41 assists (the Thunder only 14), captured 53 rebounds (rivals only 26) and robbed 16 balls (2 visitors recovered).

At half-time, the home advantage was already 68 – 36 and the maximum difference that the Grizzlies achieved throughout the duel was 78 points already in the last quarter.

The match also marks the record of points for the Grizzlies in a meeting in the entire history of the franchise .

Curiously, the Memphis did not have their star Ja Morant, who did not play due to injury, on this evening to remember. “I can’t wait to be back,” Morant said at the end of the duel.
